The World Network (formerly Worldcoin), a biometric encryption ID project, launched the "Build Latam" program in Latin America, which will allocate 1 million WLD tokens (approximately $4.80 million) to 15 regional projects to promote their iris biometrics and digital identity systems. The project debuted in Argentina, where 2.20 million residents have completed iris verification through Orb devices, making it one of the most engaged regions in the world.
Martin Mazza, regional manager for Worldcoin Latin America, revealed that since October last year, the project has used "anonymous multi-party computing" (AMPC) technology to enhance data security, storing user biometric databases sharding in databases managed by different universities. Mazza stressed that user verification rewards are only issued in the form of WLD tokens, which give holders the right to network governance.
