Mastercard advances stablecoin global payment integration

Mastercard is pushing to allow consumers to use stablecoins for spending and merchants to accept stablecoin payments. "Mastercard is offering a comprehensive 360-degree solution that will make it as easy for consumers and businesses to use stablecoins as money in their bank accounts," the company said. Consumers will be able to spend stablecoins in crypto wallets at more than 150 million merchants around the world that accept Mastercard via traditional cards, and withdraw stablecoins to their bank accounts via Mastercard Move. Mastercard has also partnered with cryptocurrency exchange OKX to issue co-branded cards, and has worked closely with Circle and Paxos to support stablecoin payments.
