In an interview on Sunday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Vincent Bescent was asked by the host if he was concerned that investors seemed to be losing confidence in the United States. Bescent replied: "You're talking about losing confidence again. I don't think it's necessarily a loss of confidence. I have 35 to 40 years of experience in the market. Anything that happens in a two-week or one-month window can be statistical noise or market noise. You know, we're long-term investors. It's important that we're laying the groundwork for a strong dollar, a strong economy, a strong stock market, and letting investors know that the U.S. government bond market is the safest and most robust in the world."
