Ministry of Commerce: Will actively work with relevant departments to accelerate the implementation of the departure tax refund policy

On April 27th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on optimizing the departure tax refund policy to expand inbound consumption. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping said that the "Notice on Further Optimizing the Departure Tax Refund Policy to Expand Inbound Consumption" is mainly aimed at the shortage of tax refund stores, the lack of tax refund shopping options, the lack of domestic products, and the need to further improve the convenience of tax refund. It proposes eight policy measures from three aspects: promoting the incremental expansion of tax refund stores, enriching the supply of tax refund goods, and improving the service level of departure tax refund. In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will actively work with relevant departments to accelerate the implementation of the policy, guide all localities to establish and improve the working mechanism, innovate work measures, and continuously improve the quality and level of departure tax refund services, so as to make tax refund more convenient and shopping more satisfactory for overseas tourists.
