Speaking at the third cryptocurrency roundtable, Paul Atkins, the SEC's new chairperson, said: "This is my fourth day on the committee and I am eager to address long-standing issues in the blockchain space, such as regulatory processing of digital assets and distributed ledger technology, and to work with my colleagues and staff and also seek outside input. This is important work as entrepreneurs across the United States are using blockchain technology to modernize the financial system. I look forward to huge gains in efficiency, cost reduction, transparency and risk reduction from this market innovation."
