Federal prosecutors in the United States have filed more than 200 victim statements in federal court in Manhattan, charging Celsius Network founder and former CEO Alex Mashinsky. The statements detail the financial loss and life impact of the Celsius crash on users. Mashinsky has pleaded guilty in December 2023, pleading guilty to one count of commodity fraud and one count of securities fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. Most of the victims have asked the court for the maximum sentence, but a few have called for a lighter sentence. Mashinsky's sentencing will be announced on May 8, and his defense team has requested no more than 366 days in prison.
