Tim Beiko, head of protocol support at the Ethereum Foundation, wrote that the Pectra upgrade will be launched on the mainnet on May 7, with an expected epoch height of 364032.
It is reported that Pectra has introduced EIP-7702, which allows standard Ethereum accounts (EOAs) to extend smart contract functionality to support use cases such as bulk transactions, gas sponsorship, or social recovery. For stakers, Pectra has introduced the ability to increase validators' valid balances.
