According to The Block, the new chairperson of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, said at his swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday that he will provide a clear regulatory basis for digital assets, adopting a "rational, coherent and principled" approach to regulation. Marking a major shift in the direction of SEC regulation, it stands in stark contrast to the stern approach of his predecessor, Gary Gensler. "With the SEC at the helm, I can confidently say that this is a new era," Atkins stressed. "The SEC has established a cryptocurrency working group to hold roundtable discussions aimed at bringing greater regulatory clarity to the crypto asset space.
