The defunct blockchain company BANKEX has filed a lawsuit against Matter Labs, the developer of the two-layer network ZKsync, accusing it of stealing intellectual property.
The lawsuit alleges that two former BANKEX employees, Alexandr Vlasov and Petr Korolev, secretly transferred the company's technology and founded Matter Labs while developing the Ethereum scaling solution Plasma. The lawsuit also names Matter Labs co-founder Alex Gluchowski, crypto investment fund Dragonfly, and Placeholder Capital partner Chris Burniske as defendants.
A Matter Labs spokesperson responded by calling the allegations "baseless," emphasizing that ZKsync is original technology and is not based on or derived from any code from BANKEX.
