Fed Daly: If inflation becomes more sticky, there could be fewer than two rate cuts this year

Mr. Daly said he was satisfied with expectations of two rate cuts this year but could do so less than twice if inflation were more sticky. If growth slows, there will be further rate cuts, and gradually lowering policy rates without a sense of urgency is the right thing to do. The Fed's only commitment is to restore price stability. The US currently has a stable labour market but still needs to achieve price stability.
