The Aptos community has proposed a new Improvement Proposal (AIP), which plans to reduce the current pledge reward rate of about 7% by 1% on a monthly basis over a 3-month period, and eventually reduce it to about 3.8%. The proposal aims to optimize the long-term development of the ecosystem, promote more active participation and competition in the DeFi field by reducing the pledge yield, and enhance the sustainability of the APT token economic model.
If approved, this would be the first major community-led protocol change since Aptos Labs launched its "Global Transaction Engine" initiative. The proposal is currently open for community feedback.
