The Slovenian Ministry of Finance is seeking advice on a proposal to impose a 25% tax on individuals' profits from the disposal of cryptoassets.
The proposal, released on Thursday, aims to close a loophole in the country's tax system, which taxes business income from crypto asset transactions but exempts natural persons from buying and selling crypto assets as investments.
The deadline for soliciting comments on the proposals is May 5. If approved by Parliament, it is expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
