A North Korean hacking group is targeting cryptocurrency developers with a fake recruitment test. Hackers disguise themselves as recruiters on LinkedIn and send developers programming test questions containing malicious code. Once the file is opened, it will install stealing software, thus compromising the security of the victim's system.
According to Hakan Unal, head of the Advanced Security Operations Center at Cyvers, a security firm, the hackers' main aim was to steal developer credentials and access codes, including cloud configurations, SSH keys, system metadata and wallet access. The attack was carried out by the North Korean hacking group Slow Pisces, also known as Jade Sleet. Security experts advise developers to be wary of unsolicited job opportunities with "too good conditions".
