Reuters poll: 45% chance of U.S. recession in coming year

The U.S. economy will grow by 1.4 percent in 2025 and 1.5 percent in 2026, according to a Reuters poll (previous March forecasts were 2.2 percent and 2.0 percent, respectively). The U.S. has a 45 percent chance of falling into recession in the coming year, the highest level since December 2023. Inflation expectations for the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) for 2025 also saw the largest upward revision since March 2023. (Jin Ten)
