According to Decrypt, the Trump administration in the United States is considering restrictive measures against Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek, possibly cutting off its access to American technology and banning Americans from using its services. The move stems from DeepSeek's DeepSeek-V3 model released in January this year, which cost only about $6 million to achieve comparable performance to US competitors, raising national security concerns. The US Congressional Select Committee on China has accused DeepSeek of secretly leaking US user data and possibly using about 60,000 Nvidia chips, including 20,000 export-controlled chips, to train its model.
