Analysis: The dollar and U.S. debt may rebound after the recent sell-off

Capital Economics economist Jonas Goltman said in a report that the dollar and U.S. Treasuries appear set to recover somewhat in the coming months after the recent sharp decline caused by President Trump's so-called reciprocal tariffs. Tariffs appear to have caused a loss of confidence in the U.S. as a safe haven for its currency and bonds, he said. The U.S. economy may avoid a full-blown recession, though, and the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates on hold this year to bring interest rate differentials back in favor of the dollar. Think the chaos in the bond market will be eased. (Golden Ten)
