According to a lawsuit filed Monday, Phantom is being sued for the theft of Wiener Doge Meme coins.
Meme developer Thomas Liam Murphy and other victims said a malicious attacker stole and cashed out more than $500,000 of Wiener Doge digital assets from Murphy's Phantom wallet on January 20.
Thirteen of Murphy's friends and relatives have filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. According to the indictment, Murphy's friends and family also purchased Wiener Doge cryptocurrency. They allege that Phantom Technologies Inc. failed to provide adequate security, exposing users to malicious software and cryptocurrency wallet theft.
