Goldman Sachs CEO: Chances of US recession'have increased
2025-04-14 22:18:50
Goldman Sachs CEO Solomon said Monday that the likelihood of a U.S. recession has "increased," citing factors such as uncertainty over the trade war and uncertainty among businesses about how to plan for the future. Going into the second quarter, Solomon said, we are operating in a markedly different environment than we did earlier in the year, with economic growth having been "slowing" and the implementation of Trump's new trade policies "dramatically altering the outlook for future global growth." Solomon also noted that concerns about significant uncertainties in the near and long term limit clients' ability to make important decisions, and that uncertainty about the future path poses "significant risks" to the U.S. and global economy.
