Trump: Support El Salvador's detention of US citizens convicted of violent crimes

US President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to extend the "deportation program" to US citizens during a meeting with El Salvador's president, Booker, in support of El Salvador's detention of US citizens who have committed violent crimes. Trump said in a video posted on social media on the same day via Booker that he wanted to send "native people" to El Salvador to serve their sentences, adding that El Salvador "must build five more places", suggesting that El Salvador's prison capacity is not enough to accommodate all the US citizens Trump wants to send there. Previously, Trump said on February 4 that the US government is investigating the legality of sending violent and dangerous US criminals to prisons abroad.
