It is reported that NASA science funding will be cut by nearly half

On April 11, two people familiar with the matter said that according to the first draft of the budget proposal submitted by US President Trump to Congress, NASA's science budget could be cut by nearly half, a move that would end billions of dollars worth of ongoing and future missions. The budget plan of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will allocate $3.90 billion to NASA's science mission board, down from the current budget of about $7.30 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. NASA's astrophysics budget will be hit hard, from about $1.50 billion to $487 million, and the planetary science budget will be reduced from $2.70 billion to $1.90 billion.
