President Donald Trump has said that Cadwalader will provide pro bono legal services totaling at least $100 million during my administration. Since taking office, President Trump has considered using pro bono legal services provided by major U.S. law firms to help his team negotiate trade with other countries. When Trump returned to the White House this year, he began "reckoning" with people involved in his lawsuits. Last month, he signed an executive order against law firm WilmerHale, targeting it over its ties to former Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller. In 2017, the Department of Justice appointed Mr. Mueller as special counsel to investigate whether the Russian government had any links to the Trump campaign, and in the past few weeks four law firms have agreed to provide pro bono legal services to the Trump administration to avoid punitive measures.
