The U.S. economy is strong, Federal Reserve Governor Bowman said Thursday, noting that recent data showed a drop in inflation last month, and while she acknowledged investors' concerns that Trump's trade policies would hurt the economy, triggering the recent financial marekt, she declined to say anything about how the tariffs would affect inflation or the labor market. "We're watching and waiting to see how the path of these policies continues to evolve, and we'll learn about its economic impact," Bowman said during a hearing to review Bowman's nomination as Fed vice chair for regulation. "It's not clear because we don't know what economic policy will look like."
