White House trade adviser: Talking about recession is "stupid", tax cuts are coming

On April 7, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, one of the most active proponents of Trump's tariffs, played down concerns about a recession. "What I want to say to retail investors is, don't be freaked out by all this," Navarro said, referring to the recent market turmoil. "The biggest tax cut in U.S. history, the most extensive tax cut in U.S. history, is coming in a couple of months, so any talk of a recession seems silly when you consider that," he told CNBC.
