The China Earthquake Network officially determined that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in the waters of Hualien County, Taiwan at 02:26 on April 23, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. Previously, the Tsunami Warning Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources judged that the earthquake would not cause a tsunami based on preliminary seismic parameters.
