Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said on Saturday that he intends to present a "package" of Japanese proposals to US leader Donald Trump on the imposition of US tariffs. Ishiba said on Friday that he plans to speak to Trump on the issue of US tariffs. He told reporters on Saturday that the conversation "could take place as early as next week" (Japan's week starts on Sunday) at a mutually convenient time. "It is important not just to discuss how our country will respond to the various issues raised by President Trump," Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba told reporters. "It is useless to make a request to make an exception for Japan. In the talks with the United States I want to present a package of Japanese proposals, so it will take time, but if we do, we will succeed." (Sputnik)
