"Sister Wood" says Trump tariffs could tip the US into recession

Cathy Wood, founder and CEO of Ark Investment Management, warned on Friday that Trump's new tariffs could tip the U.S. economy into recession, according to Golden Ten Data. "The markets are in quite a bit of turmoil," Wood said of the uncertainty created by the measures. She warned that the policies could tip the U.S. into recession. "We know how he calculates reciprocal tariffs, but it doesn't seem to make much sense," she said. "We're at the center of a storm," Wood said. But if Trump cares about his legacy - and we know he does - or about the midterm election campaign season that begins this fall, the final stretch of this rolling recession will give him and the Fed more latitude to adjust policy. "
