"OpenAI plans to release the O3 and O4-Mini before GPT-5, probably in a few weeks, and then GPT-5 in a few months," Sam Altman, founder of OpenAI, wrote in a post. "There are many reasons for this, but the most exciting is that we will be able to make GPT-5 better than we originally envisioned. Integrating everything seamlessly is a lot harder than we thought, and also want to make sure there is enough capacity to support the unprecedented demand expected to emerge."
