Santander: US tariffs will hit the US more than Europe in the short term

Ana Botin, Santander's executive chairperson, said on Friday that the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration could hit the US economy harder than Europe. "What's happening will have a bigger impact on the US than Europe," she told the bank's annual shareholder meeting. "Obviously there will be less growth in Europe, but the downward adjustment will be smaller than in the US."
