Indian automakers lobby to delay electric vehicle import tariff cuts
2025-04-02 11:35:12
On April 2, sources said that Indian automakers have proposed to reduce tariffs on electric vehicles from around 100% to 30% in stages after 2029. Automakers are concerned that any deal with the United States will set a precedent for trade talks with the European Union and the United Kingdom. Cutting tariffs on electric vehicles will be part of the first phase of a trade deal with the United States.
