On April 1st, 0xbow, a team of cryptographers including Ethereum veteran developer Ameen Soleimani and Zak Cole, recently launched a new tool to enhance privacy on the chain. According to an announcement released by the X platform, the technology called "Privacy Pools" was officially launched on the mainnet on Monday. Privacy Pools are a hybrid network system using zero-knowledge proofs and "Association Set Providers" to ensure that only "clean" funds can enter the fund pool. The goal is to provide privacy protection for ordinary cryptocurrency users while maintaining regulatory compliance.
The agreement for 0xbow, which has received funding from Bankless, Number Group and Public Works, as well as angel investors such as Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, stems from a paper Buterin co-authored in 2023 with Chainalysis researcher Jacob Illum and academics Matthias Nadler, Fabian Schar and others.
