International gold hits a record high

Spot gold closed up 1.23% at $3,056.54 an ounce; COMEX gold futures 06 contracts closed up 1.53% at $3,099 an ounce; both intraday highs. COMEX silver futures closed up 3.15% at $35.30 an ounce.
