Previously, Sacks wrote in a 2023 tweet, "Each new wave of technology causes the previous wave to be reinterpreted as paving the way: PCs - shrinking mainframes so everyone can have one; the internet - we finally have a bunch of things we can do on computers; social media - the real purpose of going online is to interact with others; mobile devices - actually PCs are not so'personal ', phones are the real personal computing devices. AI - the reason we give computers ubiquitous access is to let it solve problems for us. AI is by far the biggest wave."
