Wang Wentao met with Kang Linsong, Chairperson of the European Automobile Industry Association and Chairperson of Mercedes-Benz Group

On March 21, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Kang Linsong, Chairperson of the European Automobile Industry Association and Chairperson of Mercedes-Benz Group, and the two sides exchanged views on Mercedes-Benz Group's cooperation with China and the European Union's anti-subsidy case against China's electric vehicles. Wang Wentao stressed that China and the EU are the backbone of the WTO, and properly resolving the European Union's anti-subsidy case against China's electric vehicles is of great significance to the current China-EU relations. It will send a positive and clear signal to the world. China and the EU have the willingness and ability to resolve differences through dialogue in accordance with WTO rules, and create a stable and predictable economic and trade environment for bilateral industrial development and cooperation. China appreciates the rational appeal made by Mercedes-Benz Group on behalf of the European industry, and hopes to continue to push the European side to take practical actions, meet China halfway, and reach a mutually acceptable solution as soon as possible.
