The US state of Pennsylvania has approved the construction of Nova Energy's natural gas cryptocurrency mine

Nova Energy has received a license to build a data center for a gas-powered cryptocurrency mining farm in the town of Frenchcreek, Pennsylvania. The license is based on approval for three lean-burning natural gas engines that will provide electricity for cryptocurrency mining. According to the United Nations 2023 study, natural gas is the energy source for 21% of bitcoin mining operations worldwide, second only to coal (45%).
