Zuckerberg: Meta Llama model downloads break through 1 billion, multiple new models are expected to be launched this year

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Threads that the total number of downloads of the Llama series of AI models has exceeded 1 billion, an increase of about 53% from the 650 million in December 2024. In addition, Meta is accelerating the development of Llama and plans to invest up to $80 billion in AI projects in 2025. Meta expects to launch several new Llama models in the coming months, including "inference" models like the OpenAI o3-mini and AI with native multimodal capabilities. The first LlamaCon developer conference is scheduled for April 29, and more details may be announced at that time.
