Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has been granted registration by India's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), paving the way for its return to the Indian market.
Coinbase, which began withdrawing from the Indian market in 2022 due to regulatory pressure, plans to reintroduce trading services and will start offering retail services later this year. It closed the new user registration channel in 2023 and will only continue to offer wallet services to Indian citizens.
