The White House held a cryptocurrency summit for the first time on the 7th local time. Trump said at the summit that the US federal government will support the development of cryptocurrencies and digital asset markets represented by bitcoin. US media reported that Trump's policy shift may stem from the fact that during last year's US election, cryptocurrency investors provided him with huge political donations, expecting him to end the Biden administration's restrictive policy on cryptocurrencies after taking office. According to the Wall Street Journal, during last year's US election campaign, the cryptocurrency industry provided more than $130 million in political donations to candidates in the Senate and House of Representatives who supported cryptocurrencies through super political action committees.
