Brazilian fintech unicorn Meliuz has announced that it has started buying bitcoin as part of a new financial management strategy, joining the growing number of traditional financial firms holding crypto assets. Meliuz, which mainly provides cashback and fintech services, has its board of directors approved the allocation of up to 10% of its cash reserves to bitcoin (BTC), marking its official entry into the cryptocurrency market. Meliuz has completed its first bitcoin acquisition, purchasing 45.72 BTC worth a total of approximately $4.10 million, with an average purchase price of $90,296.
