On March 5, the Indian Enforcement Agency (ED) has designated cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX to manage the seized digital assets, including two major fraud cases involving GainBitcoin and BitConnect, with a total amount of nearly 200 million US dollars. In the GainBitcoin case, the CBI carried out searches in various places and seized about $2.88 million worth of cryptocurrencies and related documents and equipment. In the BitConnect fraud case, the ED seized about $198 million worth of digital assets last month, while also confiscating cash, vehicles and electronic devices.
CoinDCX said it will provide a secure custody infrastructure for these seized assets and implement high-level security protocols to ensure asset protection.
