On February 28, Tim Beiko, head of protocol support at the Ethereum Foundation, updated the information on the Holesky testnet Pectra upgrade failure.
Beiko said that a large-scale slash (penalty) will be performed on the Holesky testnet tonight to finalize the correct block on the chain, and the entire duration may last for 2-3 weeks until the weight of validators suffering from the slash falls below 33% of the network.
Beiko also mentioned that the upgrade time of the Sepolia testnet will not change, providing a longer test cycle for the mainnet upgrade. Mainnet upgrade issues will be discussed at next week's ACDC meeting, but a specific date is unlikely.
Tim Beiko: Holesky will resolve the upgrade failure through slash, and the upgrade time of Sepolia testnet will remain unchanged
