Safe posted on social media that the attack on Bybit was achieved by hacking into the machines of Safe {Wallet} developers, resulting in malicious transactions being submitted disguised as legitimate transactions. A review by external security researchers did not find any vulnerabilities in Safe smart contracts or in the source code of the front-end and services.
The Safe {Wallet} front end still functions normally and additional security measures have been taken. However, users need to be extra cautious and vigilant when signing transactions.
