According to a post on social media by Santiment, the transaction cost on the Ethereum network is currently only $2.07, which is far lower than the $15.21 paid on March 4, when demand was unusually high. Markets have historically swung in cycles of sentiment, sometimes thinking that cryptocurrencies will "fly to the moon" and sometimes thinking that "cryptocurrencies are dead". This sentiment is often observed through transaction fees. These fees tend to peak (and sometimes diverge) at the peak of the Ethereum price and return to static levels at the bottom of the price.
