U.S. President Donald Trump said he is launching a program that offers a pathway to residency and naturalization for investors who pay $5 million, providing a new pathway to legal immigration while he is launching a full-scale crackdown on undocumented immigrants. The program, known as the "gold card," will be launched in two weeks, Trump said, adding that he doesn't think his administration needs approval from Congress. The full scope of the program and how it will be implemented is unclear. "We're going to put a price tag of about $5 million for this card, and it will give you green card privileges," he added, referring to green cards currently issued to permanent residents of the United States.
