On February 25 local time, 21 staff members resigned from Elon Musk's Department of Government Effectiveness, saying they refused to use their technical expertise to "dismantle critical public services". In a joint resignation letter, the staff are understood to have said that many of the people Mr. Musk recruited to help him cut the size of the federal government were "political visionaries" and did not have the skills or experience needed to do their jobs.
