Bitcoin Policy Institute Policy Director: U.S. Lawmakers May Amend Securities Laws to Give Crypto Tokens a Pass

Zack Shapiro, director of policy at the Bitcoin Policy Institute, said lawmakers are only a few years away from passing a market structure bill that could rewrite and amend securities laws to essentially give crypto tokens a pass. He added that Congress is also likely to pass a stablecoin bill in the coming months, and White House cryptocurrency chief David Sacks has recently titled the Trump administration to prioritize a bill involving stablecoin rules. The White House sees this move as critical to maintaining the dominance of the dollar, so among the many new developments Trump has proposed, such as the creation of a national bitcoin reserve, it is most confident that a stablecoin bill will be passed this year.
