A woman who falsely altered her payroll and defrauded Bybit of $5.70 million from cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has been sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison by a Singapore court. Ho Kai Xin was sentenced to nine years and 11 months in prison after pleading guilty to 44 charges, including five charges of cheating and eight charges of dealing with the benefit of criminal conduct, The Straits Times reported on Feb 20. Ho committed the offences while working for crypto network platform WeChain, which was responsible for payroll for Bybit. Ho leads the payroll team.
At the end of last month, she was sentenced to six weeks in prison for contempt of court for spending ill-gotten gains in defiance of court orders. Ho's sentence is nearly 10 years, and she will start serving it when her sentence expires on January 27.
