On February 20, local time, U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper of the Federal Court in Washington, D.C., ruled that the Trump administration can continue to lay off federal government employees on a large scale for now, rejecting a request by labor unions to prevent Trump from making deep cuts 2.30 million federal employees. It is reported that the ruling on that day is temporary, and the lawsuit is still ongoing. Previously, the US Treasury employees union and four other unions filed a lawsuit last week to prevent the government from laying off hundreds of thousands of federal employees and offering buyout plans to employees who voluntarily quit.
