According to Decrypt, police in the UK have arrested and charged two men suspected of committing a cryptocurrency scam against a 75-year-old Aberdeenshire retiree, causing the victim to lose six-figure sums.
It is reported that the case was reported in July 2024. Police Scotland's North East Branch, working with West Midlands Police and South Yorkshire Police, arrested a 54-year-old man in Coventry and a 36-year-old man in Mexborough respectively. The two were charged on the same day.
