"Bitcoin has hit multiple all-time highs because everyone knows I'm committed to making America the cryptocurrency capital," Mr. Trump said at the Future Investment Initiative conference in Miami on Wednesday.
He added: "We want to be at the forefront of everything, one of which is cryptocurrency, and Miami seems to be at the centre of the action. If you think about it, maybe it will always be there."
Washington is expected to have the most crypto-friendly Congress to date, with pro-crypto lawmakers such as Senate Banking Committee Chairperson Tim Scott and House Financial Services Committee Chairperson French Hill leading key committees to dominate crypto regulation.
