According to reports, Musk has sought concessions and asked for a reduction in tariffs on imported electric vehicles. "The company has been favoring Maharashtra because it already has an office in Pune, which would be a natural extension of its business considering that the company also has many existing suppliers in the state," a person familiar with the matter said. He added that the Maharashtra government has offered locations close to Chakan and Chikali, both of which are close to Pune.
